BIOGRAPHY

Wolfgang Purkhauser is a film editor from Germany.

After founding the production company “Clix GmbH” in 2010 and working with it on various short and commercial formats as a producer, director and editor, he started studying editing at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in 2017.

2019 his first feature length documentary film SOMMERKRIEG (SUMMERWAR) about two kids attending a ukrainian summercamp won multiple awards and was screened at HOT DOCS, IDFA, Max Ophüls Preis and Deutscher Dokumentarfilmpreis.

PORNFLUENCER, a portrait about a young couple who made a fortune as a “Verified Couple” on porn websites, was part of DOK.fest München and Deutscher Dokumentarfilmpreis. A German wide cinema release was realized by the distributer Salzgeber in 2022. Wolfgang is editor and co-writer of Pornfluencer.

Wolfgang got a scholarship of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation and participated in a masterclass at UCLA Extension in Los Angeles in August 2023.

In 2025, Wolfgang graduated from Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg with a diploma.
His first narrative feature film BABYSTAR — a ZDF Kleines Fernsehspiel (directed by Joscha Bongard, produced by LiseLotte Films), which he co-edited with Emma Holzapfel — celebrated its festival premiere at Toronto International Film Festival - TIFF 50, was screened and awarded at various festivals around the world and will be in german cinemas in April 2026.
